End of Lent Term

End of Lent Term

As the Lent term draws to a close and we gather together with family and friends to prepare for Easter, I would like to take this opportunity to say how very proud I am of each and every child in the school. Whether it is musical, sporting, creative, spiritual or academic success; a tiny target met or a massive stride forward. All should be celebrated as each individual plays such an important part in making St. Michael's School so special.

During the past week alone, I have had the pleasure of watching our youngest children perform their Nursery Celebration hymns after a super morning of creative Easter activities; followed by an Easter Concert celebrating 50 years of the Andrew Lloyd Webbers adaptation of Joseph and his Technicoloured Dreamcoat. It is no wonder our children reach such high standards of performance when they are singing, dancing, playing and acting in front of audiences from such a young age. It is evident that the children thrive from this creativeness and are embedding lifelong skills. Their confidence and love of learning is a joy to watch.

Every week, whether in the Prep class assemblies, Pre-prep Chapels or our whole school 'Show and Tell’, the children are eager to share their learning and school experiences with us all. It is a very special part of the week where we gather together to learn about what different classes are learning; it is a time to bond with our form groups and share experiences. Looking back just at this past half term alone we have had assemblies on the children's experiences at Asheldham, Mardi Gras, The Good Samaritan, our learning powers, country dancing and Easter around the World to name but a few. It was also wonderful to gather together on Ash Wednesday where Father David led Mass.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful Easter holiday; I hope you have a relaxing and peaceful break. Every child will leave school today with a palm cross which has been blessed by Father David and we will all gather together on the first Friday back to have a special Easter Mass. Thank you again for your continued support.
