I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome and support I have received from so many of you. It is with great pleasure that I take on the role of Acting Head teacher here at St. Michael's Preparatory School until the end of this summer term. Mr Mobbs, our new Head Master, will be joining us from September 2019 and I am sure you will have the opportunity to meet him on many occasions before then.
As I stand on the gate most mornings, I am always thrilled to see the smiling faces of the children coming into school. Their enthusiasm and love of learning is clearly visible and I feel proud that I am part of such a special school.
Since first joining the school in April 2017, I have seen so many achievements and positive developments within the school and I am excited to be driving it into its next chapter. Together with the Governors, Senior Management team and staff we look forward to holding dear the traditional values (things that make St. Michael’s special), alongside embracing the new and exciting plans for the future.
Communication is key and I will endeavour to keep you updated on the news and developments of the school as often as I can. I always welcome the opportunity to discuss all aspects of the school face to face with you and actively encourage you to e-mail me via [email protected] or make an appointment to meet me in person through Mrs Franklin.
It is hoped that we shall be holding our first ‘Parents Forum’ next half term which will give parents the opportunity to ask questions, pose new ideas and discuss all aspects of life at St. Michaels School in the public domain with the major stakeholders. Mrs Attwell and I look forward to the opportunity to present future plans and developments for the school. Details to follow shortly.
Please be aware that there are many ways to be kept informed via social media (Twitter and Facebook), the School App and the website.
Well done to all the children for their efforts so far this year – I have really enjoyed reading all their reports and seeing the progress they are making. Mid-year reports are available today on the SIMS parent app and by e-mail. Paper copies have been sent home with the Prep children tonight and Forms 1 and 2 will have theirs on Tuesday, 26th February 2019 when they return after half term. In the pursuit of us reducing our carbon footprint the school has taken the decision to go paperless with reports starting from the Year 5 interim reports in April, although paper copies will still be available on request.
I hope you all have a fantastic half term break. I look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday, 26th February and to the weeks ahead with plenty of exciting events and learning opportunities for us to share.
